Case Study - Victoria Lodge Motel

Victoria Lodge Motel is a small and friendly motel located in the heart of Rotorua, run by moteliers Prue and Alan Hope.  In 2009, the motel’s then-current phone system, which dated back to the early 80s, suffered a significant failure.  This meant that a new system had to be sourced for the motel ASAP.  

The timing of the failure coincided with the height of the recession in NZ, and cashflow was lean.  This meant that the system had to be replaced on a tight budget - not an easy task as the requirements of a motel phone system are both more advanced than a standard business, and the system needed the capability to support extensions for each of the rooms at the motel.

C-talk came to the party with a new phone system for Victoria Lodge that was cost-effective to install, had the feature’s they needed, and most importantly used C-talk’s VoIP network, which was going to significantly reduce their ongoing phone costs!

One day on site at the motel, some minor re-wiring, drilling and cabling later, and the system was all up and running.  The motel now had a more advanced phone system than previously, and was saving money!  Below is a screenshot of the phone system’s “uptime” report, showing the system was alive for over a year, without needing a single restart!
