Authorisation PIN Code - C-talk Help

The authorisation PIN code feature is a flexible feature that can be used for a number of purposes, including restricting staff access to toll calls, and preventing PABX fraud.  To set or update your authorisation PIN:

  1. Log in to the portal, and click on the "Authorisation PIN Code" link from the main page.
  2. You'll see there is an option to enable the feature, and then a box to enter the desired PIN.
  3. There is a drop-box to select what level of restriction you would like.
  4. Click save after entering your settings

Now, if you or your staff dial a number that matches the "restriction level" you've selected above, you will be prompted to enter the PIN code.  Without the PIN code, you or your staff will not be able to make calls to that number

Preventing PABX Fraud
The default setting for most C-talk lines is to restrict "Expensive Overseas Destinations".  This just makes the PIN code active for those destinations that are targeted by hackers.  If you have a PABX phone system, it is recommended that you keep this setting.  This means that even in the unfortunate event that your PABX is hacked, the hackers still cannot call these destinations and rack up a huge bill for you.
